Clockwise from top left:
Maria Schiavone; Maya Kraszewski; Jasmine Wells; Ellie D’Amico; Annie Nguyen; Rachel Martinez; Cece Thomas; Olivia Murray; Ryuko Takahashi; Nina Blake
Ellie D’Amico
Appearance notes:
- 24-year-old white nonbinary person, sexual orientation unknown
- 5’4”, slim build
- Shoulder length dark brown hair and blue eyes
Ellie D’Amico was previously a college freshman from Atlantic City in New Jersey, who was attending NYU when they were abducted on their way to visit their parents for spring break and brought to Stepford in 2019. They were married off to Adam Cornell, the adult son (who I just made up lol) of Frank and Patricia Cornell from the first film and original book, forced to pretend to be a cisgender woman, and given the alias Evelyn Cornell.
We first meet Ellie when they crash their car into a lamppost outside Stepford Pharmaceuticals. Zach Taylor attempts to assist them before they are hauled away by police, but not before discreetly passing Zach a note stating their true identity. They notably repeat the same phrases spoken by Rosie Everett when Zach first met her. Luckily, Ellie escapes and is seen arriving at Grand Central Terminal with several other former Stepford Wives at the end of the film.
Maria Schiavone
Appearance notes:
- Italian-American cishet woman, late 20’s or early 30’s
- 5’7” or so, athletic build
- Black-brown hair and brown eyes
Maria Miller (née Schiavone) originally moved from Greenwich Village to Stepford in May 2019 with her husband at the time, who she had only been married to for less than two months. Immediately upon settling in the town, Andrew Miller joined the Men’s Association and became fully immersed in their inner circle, at which point his treatment of Maria changed drastically. He began to act controlling and intensely critical towards Maria in an effort to undermine her confidence and self-worth, eventually culminating in him tampering with her birth control pills. When Maria confronted Andrew she was suddenly knocked unconscious, brought to the Men’s Association house, and held in the basement there as the Coba Technique was administered to her. Immediately, she was relegated to doing all of the household chores, including cooking and cleaning, with her husband repeatedly attempting to use her body to conceive children, albeit unsuccessfully.
Maria was only able to escape Stepford after a visit from Rachel Martinez, who broke her conditioning with proof that a missing persons report was filed for her five years prior. She immediately grabbed her most precious belongings, set the house on fire with her husband still asleep inside, and left Stepford for good.
Upon arriving home in New York, Maria reverts back to her maiden name and heads to a nearby women’s shelter. She later gets a tattoo of Artemisia Gentileschi’s Judith Slaying Holofernes on her left inner forearm to commemorate her freedom.
Olivia Murray
Appearance notes:
- 25-year-old Irish-American white cis woman, sexual orientation unknown
- 5’3”, slightly chubby build, made to lose weight in Stepford
- Dark blonde hair and light blue-green eyes
- Known in Stepford as Helen Van Sant
Olivia Murray, originally from South Boston, Massachusetts, was abducted on her way home from work at a Best Buy in nearby Dorchester and brought to Stepford in April 2020. Prior to this she had been taking care of her sick mother, and throughout her rare moments of lucidity had been intensely distressed at being separated from her. Olivia was married off to Aaron Van Sant, the now-adult son of Ted and Carol Van Sant from the original book and film, who still resides in his childhood home. She had tried to escape several times, only to be recaptured by Darren Coba and returned to Mr Van Sant’s house.
Olivia accompanied several other fleeing Stepford Wives on a train to New York City, some four years after she was originally captured. She presumably returned to Boston afterward to resume caring for her mother.
Ryuko Takahashi
Appearance notes:
- 25-year-old Japanese cis woman, sexual orientation unknown
- 5’4”, slim build
- Long black hair and brown eyes
- Known in Stepford as Sally Buckley
Ryuko Takahashi, an architecture student from Osaka Prefecture in Japan, was holidaying in New York when she was abducted by Frank Buckley, a Stepford police officer and member of the Men’s Association, on the 4th of July 2022. In Stepford she bore one child to her kidnapper, a daughter named Hina (or Margaret depending on who you ask), and is pregnant with her second by the time she escapes. She has a limited understanding of English and was not taught the language any further, possibly in an effort to prevent her from asking for help to escape. After fleeing Stepford, Ryuko returns to Japan with her daughter, where she has a son who she names Naoto before she resumes her architecture studies.
FUN FACT!!!! Her favourite Sanrio character is Cinnamoroll. I don’t blame her he’s great
Nina Blake
Appearance notes:
- 27-year-old white cis woman, sexual orientation unknown
- 5’6”, lithe/willowy build
- Long red wavy hair and green eyes
- Known in Stepford as Susan Claybrook
Nina Blake is a classically trained violinist hailing from Albany, New York, who has a line of notation from J.S. Bach’s Air on the G String tattooed on her left inner forearm. She was abducted on New Years Eve 2020, not far from the Palace Theatre, and taken to Stepford, where she was forcibly married to Jeremy Claybrook, the now adult son of Gary and Donna Claybrook from the original book. In Stepford, Jeremy repeatedly tried to have Nina’s tattoo removed but to no avail. By the time Nina escapes she is (possibly?) several months pregnant, and opts for an abortion upon returning home.
FUN FACT!!!! Nina auditioned for the Albany Symphony Orchestra and was meant to start with them in the new year before being taken to Stepford
Annie Nguyen
Appearance notes:
- Late teens to early 20’s Vietnamese-American cis woman, sexual orientation unknown, implied WLW
- 5’2”, curvy/chubby build
- Shoulder length black hair and brown eyes
- Known in Stepford as Nancy Axhelm
Nguyễn Thị Loan, also known as Annie Nguyen, is the most recent abductee before Cece Thomas, having been taken to Stepford from Philadelphia sometime in July or August, and married to Stephen Axhelm, the eldest son of Claude and Marie Axhelm from the original book and film. It is implied she developed a crush on another woman in Stepford – a clumsy goth girl buying Halloween decorations at the grocery store. Upon regaining her freedom, Annie throws herself into the goth subculture, as if in tribute to the girl who passed her by.
Jasmine Wells
Appearance notes:
- Early to mid 20’s Black cis woman, sexual orientation unknown
- 5’5”, slim/hourglass build
- 4B textured hair and brown eyes
- Known in Stepford as Martha Huntington
Jasmine Wells is an aspiring jazz and blues singer from Staten Island, New York. In May 2021 she was approached by a man who pretended to offer her a record deal, then proceeded to incapacitate her and take her to Stepford, where he manipulated Jasmine into becoming a submissive and docile housewife. During her absence, Jasmine’s friends and family pleaded for her safe return, but the NYPD assumed she was a sex worker and therefore not worth helping, leaving the investigation to dry up before it had started. Fortunately, Jasmine escapes Stepford with several other fellow wives, immediately heading for the Staten Island Ferry upon arriving in New York.
Maya Kraszewski
Appearance notes:
- Early to mid 30’s cis woman, sexual orientation unknown but previously had a boyfriend before her abduction
- 5’5” or so
- Loosely curly brown hair and brown eyes
- Polish Jewish ancestry
- If you smushed Alia Shawkat, Rachel Sennott, Tatiana Maslany and Odessa A’Zion into a little polymer clay ball and rolled it around you’d get her
- Moved from Baltimore, Maryland to New York to study law before her abduction
- Known in Stepford as Jean Coba
Maya Kraszewski is one of the earliest abductees to Stepford, possibly even the first, having been taken as a college student by Dale Coba Jr. sometime between 2009 and 2011. She’s not seen much in the film, except for at the Taproom with Coba, and at the end when she arrives at Grand Central Terminal with the other Stepford Wives, whereupon she is overcome by emotion and comforted by Maria Schiavone.
