Upon learning of Zach Taylor’s intentions for coming to Stepford and uncovering his trans identity, the Men’s Association quickly formulate a plan to disappear the journalist by creating a humanoid specimen intended to replace him in Stepford. This specimen is an idealised depiction of how Zach would have appeared if he hadn’t transitioned, albeit with many liberties taken with its appearance to make it appear more feminine and sexually appealing – slightly fuller hips and thighs, no tattoos, clear skin, an almost completely hairless body and softer facial features. It is given the name ‘Melissa’, intended to be married off to Arthur Hendry, but when Arthur refuses Darren Coba claims it for his own wife.
When it is introduced to Zach Taylor, he reacts with horror and disgust. After Cece Thomas breaks into the Terhune Mansion’s basement and fights off Zach’s abductors with a baseball bat, Zach uses said bat to destroy the specimen as an act of mercy.
